A Helping Hand With Those Pesky New Year’s Resolutions

After the holidays wind down, treating yourself to something nice doesn’t seem like an option. The new year is a time to head to the gym, climb on that scale, work harder than you did before. It’s counter–intuitive that including regular massage therapy into your routine can actually help you stick to your goals.
But it can. Part of being healthy is taking care of yourself and massage can help in two very important ways. Stress is a big one. It can lead to any number of physical ailments, cause sleep problems, decrease immune function, bring on spasms, etc. The list goes on and with stress, it can be a downward spiral that’s tough to break. Incorporating massage into your regular routine can help lower your stress levels, thereby improving health and mood.
Another way is by pairing it with exercise. When you introduce a new workout regimen or up your normal exercise routine, it puts stresses on your joints and muscles that massage therapy can help with. Massage can prevent injuries as you’re upping your game and also act as a nice little motivator as well. Instead of treating yourself to the unhealthy food that brought on the resolution, treat yourself to a massage that will help you keep up with your new, improved self.
It’s important to stick to the promises you made for yourself, but a helping hand never hurt.
